You are an Engineer with Automation experience suited to site role responsible for installation and commissioning of automation work packages for specific capital projects.
With Electrical and/or Automation engineering background, including Instrumentation and PLC systems and associated Automation Controls, you will manage complex functions providing technical guidance and support to plant processes from commissioning to final project delivery and handover to production and maintenance teams.
 
Areas of particular expertise:

• Configuration of HMI, DCS, PLC & Sensory control systems
• Communications such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Remote I/O.
• Programming of warehouse management systems
• Robotic systems in industrial manufacturing 

You have previously been involved in: 

• Experience in automation interfacing and protocols such as Profibus & Profinet.
• Hands on programming experience, including specification/design on Siemens equipment.
• Setting up new PLC hardware and software from scratch
• Navigating and understanding code in existing PLCs
• Programming of Human Machine interface programming and 
• Developing commissioning and test plans to validate safety PLC code
• Conduct hardware and software training for technical personnel
• Experience with efficient alarm design and fault-finding guides. 
• Input to all phases of a project within the automation scope of services as required by the Project Manager/Engineer
• Design of electrical and automated control systems including HMI 
• Ensures full compliance of work to IEEE Standards
• Create project performance specifications, safety specifications and functional descriptions
• Selects the appropriate technology for projects (PLC, Drive, Instruments, Sensors, Valves, Actuators, MCC, Motors, etc.) 
• Design drawings for construction of the physical components of electrical and automation systems including the following:
  • Single Line Diagrams, Motor Control Schematics/specifications, Control panel layout & design
  • Electrical power distribution systems design and specification
  • I/O wiring
  • Loop drawings
  • Network system design

You have the following:

Professional Engineers Registration as per the Act 2019(the Act) 
Engineering Degree – Electrical/Automation 
Minimum of 10 years’ experience
Experience in heavy industry and manufacturing
High level of initiative and problem solving skills
Strong HSE focus
 
This is a contract role and a competitive hourly rate in line with relevant level of experience will be paid.
